The OFW gathering last Dec. 29 was not what I expected. It was not unpleasant. It was just different. I have attended quite a few OFW gatherings and they were mostly of the chika-chika kind. Sosyalan kumbaga. This one was a forum on a small scale.

My friend Francisco “Jun” Aguilar of the FMW Group (Filipino Migrant Workers) presented his concept of the Partidong Pandaigdigang Pilipino, a group for overseas Filipinos.

I said if such a concept could be turned into a reality, it would be good for all overseas Filipinos, both overseas workers and immigrants. Filipinos have such a penchant for forming groups, no one group really has a say on policies affecting overseas Filipinos, no one group can be consulted. Having a single group will be a good thing.

BY THE WAY, THANKS TO ME-ANN GONZALES FOR THE PICTURES.
